Notes on Reading and Writing
These are short guides to problems I often work through with students. You can use them without booking a lesson.
A good starting question for both reading and writing is: What detail are you working with, and what do you think it means? First find something specific in the text. Then explain what it suggests, and why your interpretation makes sense. If the evidence supports another reading too, consider that possibility rather than hiding it.
